The beginner viola set includes: The tailpiece ( Wittner brand), the bridge ( Despiau brand), the strings ( Pirastro brand) or equivalent, a case (black on the outside) and a fiberglass bow ( Holtz brand or equivalent).
By purchasing or renting a set, you do not need to purchase anything extra to play, except for your support or shoulder rest. We suggest you get the Everest shoulder rest, or follow your teacher's advice on this choice. Some beginner programs may suggest a simple sponge.
All adjustments to the instrument are made by our craftsmen. Our instruments are made of maple, spruce and ebony.
We take back the kit at 70% - $100 reconditioning fee. Conditions: - The instrument must be in good condition - You must purchase an instrument of equal or greater value.
For a period of two years from the date of purchase, Wilder & Davis will repair the instrument if it is found to have a structural defect or if a defect appears. Structural defects include abnormal changes in the neck tilt and angle, sagging or warping of the top, and warping of the sides.
